Job summary

Matchtech is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to join an established engineering organisation in Portsmouth. You will own electrical building services design across the full lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting delivery through to site.

In a highly regulated Defence and Security environment, you will ensure designs are safe, compliant, and buildable, with occasional site visits to resolve issues and support installation activities.

Qualifications

• Background in Electrical Engineering (building services/design delivery experience).
• Experience in highly regulated environments (Defence, Security, nuclear, critical infrastructure).
• Security clearance is required or you must be eligible and willing to go through the clearance process.

Responsibilities

• Producing and developing electrical building services designs from concept through delivery.
• Working closely with stakeholders to keep solutions safe, compliant, and buildable.
• Supporting technical delivery—answering queries, resolving issues, and contributing to smooth project completion.

We're hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation delivering complex, regulated projects. You'll take ownership of electrical building services design across the full lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting delivery through to site.
