Job summary

Latent Edge Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work on complex engineering projects in Bedfordshire. You will design and develop electrical systems across the full lifecycle, from concept through to testing, while collaborating with mechanical, electronics, systems and manufacturing engineers.

The role emphasizes producing schematics, validating requirements, and ensuring safety and quality standards in regulated environments. prior defence exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong practical experience in electrical design and development.
• Experience producing electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of power distribution, DC systems, electrical protection and components.
• Experience with electrical CAD or schematic design tools.
• Understanding of electrical integration, testing and fault-finding.
• Experience with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, rail or other regulated environments is beneficial.

I'm working with an established organisation in the UK defence engineering sector that's looking to strengthen its electrical engineering team in Bedfordshire.

What we're looking for

We're keen to speak with Electrical Design Engineers who have experience developing complex electrical systems within a structured engineering environment.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong practical experience in electrical design and development.
• Experience producing electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of power distribution, DC systems, electrical protection and associated components.
• Experience with electrical CAD or schematic design tools.
• An understanding of electrical integration, testing and fault-finding.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within defence, aerospace, automotive, rail or other highly regulated engineering environments would be beneficial, although a defence background isn't essential.
