Job summary

Labman is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our HQ team in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. You will design and implement electrical control systems for bespoke robotic automation, then actively build, wire, test and commission them on the machines.

You will work hands-on with panel wiring, diagnostics, and safety systems while collaborating with mechanical and software engineers to ensure successful project delivery and customer installation worldwide where required.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC Level 4 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• 3+ years' relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Hands-on with wiring, testing and fault-finding.
• Experience reading electrical drawings and datasheets.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Good time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for bespoke robotic systems.
• Design single and three-phase power circuits, DC power, servo and stepper systems, IO, sensors and safety circuits.
• Produce and interpret electrical drawings and datasheets.
• Carry out electrical wiring, panel and machine integration, testing and commissioning.
• Fault-find electrical issues on machines using diagnostic equipment and modify as needed.
• Support machine safety risk assessments and determine functional safety requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software and project teams and communicate status.
• Participate in full lifecycle from initial design to installation at customer sites.
• Work to EU and ISO standards, directives and legislation.
