Job summary

AVK is seeking a Modular Electrical Design Engineer to develop detailed electrical designs for LV Modular Power Pods from concept through manufacture, installation and commissioning. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, modular power solutions for data centres and mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to produce detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
• Experience with LV electrical design and switchgear & power distribution.
• Ability to interpret GA drawings, electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
• Familiarity with LV switchgear, cable routing and electrical safety standards.
• Understanding of off-site manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D electrical designs for LV Modular Power Pods using AutoCAD Electrical and related tools.
• Develop schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, panel layouts and manufacturing packs.
• Interpret client specifications and datasheets to create compliant design solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Design, BIM, Production and Project teams for integrated, clash-free designs.
• Support DfMA processes and provide technical support through build, FAT, installation and commissioning.

About the Role

We're looking for a Modular Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing Modular Services team.

In this role, you'll be responsible for developing detailed electrical designs and integrated engineering solutions for our LV Modular Power Pods, supporting projects from concept through manufacture, installation and commissioning. Working alongside mechanical design, BIM and production teams, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative, high-quality modular power solutions for mission-critical environments.

The Modular Services team is at the forefront of designing and delivering prefabricated power infrastructure that helps support some of the world’s most demanding data centre projects. Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

• Produce detailed 2D electrical designs for LV Modular Power Pods using AutoCAD Electrical and associated design tools.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, panel layouts and manufacturing/build packs to support efficient project delivery.
• Interpret client specifications, equipment datasheets and technical documentation to create compliant and practical design solutions.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and safety requirements.

Collaboration & Project Support

• Collaborate with Mechanical Design, BIM, Production and Project teams to deliver fully integrated, clash-free designs.
• Support Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) processes to improve efficiency, quality and ease of installation.
• Provide technical support throughout design, build, FAT, installation and commissioning activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance engineering processes and modular delivery capabilities.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience producing detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
• Experience within LV electrical design, ideally involving MV/LV switchgear & power distribution
• Ability to interpret General Arrangement (GA) drawings, electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
• Familiarity with LV switchgear, cable routing principles and electrical safety standards.
• Understanding of off-site manufacturing principles.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

• Experience with modular integration projects.
• Design experience within the critical power, data centre or mission-critical infrastructure sector.
• AutoCAD/Autodesk certification or equivalent qualification.
