Job summary

The company in Nottingham is seeking a Graduate / Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to work on electrical building services from feasibility to detailed designs. 40 hours/week, permanent, full-time with clear career progression and structured training.

You will join an experienced team delivering LV distribution, lighting and other systems, with exposure to Amtech/Relux/Revit/AutoCAD and client meetings as part of a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship route with City and Guilds accepted.
• Interest in Building Services Design.
• Some experience beneficial for intermediate level.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Designing, sizing and selecting electrical building services systems.
• Working on LV distribution, lighting, small power, fire and security systems.
• Producing load calculations and supporting utility connection applications.
• Developing electrical designs using industry-standard calculation and design software.
• Producing 2D drawings, 3D models, specifications and technical reports.
• Supporting the implementation of sustainable technologies within electrical designs.
• Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical and other disciplines.
• Attending client, design team and project meetings.
• Undertaking feasibility studies and site surveys.
• Working to relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry design guidance.
• Developing knowledge of Amtech, Relux, Revit and AutoCAD through structured training and hands-on experience.
