Job summary

TechMet Ltd. in Tyone, Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced electrical design engineer to design, test and validate robust electrical systems for off-road/vehicle applications.

You will develop circuit schematics, harnesses and panel layouts, coordinate with PLC engineers on powertrain controls and ensure designs meet industry standards and safety requirements. The role requires at least 5 years postgrad experience and expertise with AutoCAD/SolidWorks/EPLAN.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering required.
• 5+ years postgraduate experience in similar design role.
• Experience with electrical schematics software.
• Experience with electrified vehicle powertrain systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics, harnesses and panel layouts.
• Create technical documentation including specs, work instructions and parts lists.
• Conduct simulations and analyses to verify designs and specify components.
• Collaborate with cross‑department teams to realize design boundaries and solutions.
• Develop electrical solutions from customer requirements and testing.
• Coordinate with PLC engineers on powertrain controls.
• Expand product range with new market offerings.
• Ensure product quality through electrical testing methods.
• Apply safety-critical systems knowledge to electrical design.
