Job summary
Arup in the United Kingdom is looking for an intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join our Building Services team in Sheffield. You will design and deliver sustainable, efficient electrical systems that enhance safety and performance across healthcare, industrial, data centres and commercial projects, from feasibility studies through to detailed design and delivery.
You will produce detailed designs, carry out calculations, and ensure compliance with standards such as BS 7671,
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with chartership progression.
- Experience in electrical building services design for HV/LV, lighting, fire alarm, security & access control.
- Proficiency in BIM environments and design software (Revit, ProDesign, Dialux, SKM/ETAP/Amtech).
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed electrical designs and calculations for building projects.
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and other applicable standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, energy‑efficient solutions.
- Contribute to the digital transformation of the business through BIM and automation.
