Job summary

Hartland Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking automation solutions provider in the Midlands, with a focus on projects across various industries. The role suits candidates based in Rugby, Coventry, Leamington Spa or Warwick.

Responsibilities include designing electrical schematics using EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical, selecting components and control panels, and supporting delivery from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical design, preferably within automation or machinery environments.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into effective designs.
• Able to work alongside PLC Control Systems Engineers, mechanical engineers, software engineers and project managers.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics using CAD software (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical)
• Specify electrical components, control panels, and systems
• Support project delivery from initial concept through to installation and commissioning
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
