Job summary

FYBA Talent is recruiting an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading UK engineering business in the water and wastewater sector, based in Manchester. You will join a multidisciplinary design team and contribute from concept through construction, delivering LV electrical designs that meet safety, quality and client requirements.

Qualifications

• A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years' electrical design experience within the UK water industry.
• Experience producing LV electrical designs for water or wastewater treatment projects.
• Good knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practices.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical designs in line with safety, quality and client requirements.
• Preparing electrical calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications.
• Developing LV electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Working closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated drawings.
• Liaising with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, legislation and client specifications.
• Supporting design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering activities.
• Managing design changes throughout project delivery.
• Attending client, supplier and internal design meetings.
• Continuing to develop your technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional development.

Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer

Industry: Water & Wastewater

We're currently working with a leading engineering business operating across the UK water and wastewater sector, who are looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing design team.

This is a great opportunity for an electrical engineer with around 3-5 years' design experience who is looking to develop their technical career while working on a range of water and wastewater projects.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality electrical design deliverables and supporting projects from concept through to construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• BIM processes and Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Working towards IEng or CEng status
