Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering and construction business operating within the UK water sector.

Based from their Peterborough office with hybrid working available, you will join an established engineering team delivering electrical design solutions for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience producing electrical designs within water, wastewater or process engineering.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering designs.
• Ability to develop economical, practical and constructible plant layouts.
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers is advantageous.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs and layouts suitable for construction and commissioning.
• Develop design documentation, drawings and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, civil, process and other disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions, considering whole-life project costs.
• Provide engineering input, estimates and technical feedback to support proposals.
• Maintain accurate project records and engineering documentation.
• Support the development and improvement of engineering processes and procedures.
• Liaise with clients, internal teams and other stakeholders to ensure design requirements are met.
• Assist with mentoring and developing junior engineering staff.
• Ensure environmental considerations and waste reduction are incorporated into designs.
• Contribute to a strong culture of customer satisfaction and technical excellence.

The Opportunity

Gearing Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering and construction business operating within the UK water sector.

Based from their Peterborough office with hybrid working available, you will join an established engineering team delivering electrical design solutions for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating electrical designs, technical documentation and drawings, ensuring solutions are safe, practical, cost-effective and compliant with relevant standards.

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical engineering within the water and wastewater sector, with a good understanding of water or sewage treatment processes.

You will ideally have:

• Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience producing electrical designs within water, wastewater or process engineering.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering designs.
