JOB TITLE: Electrical Design Engineer

SALARY: Competitive

HOURS: Compressed hours - 37 ½ hours per wk (Mon – Thurs 0815 – 1700/ Fri 0815 – 1245)

LOCATION: Norwich, NR7

About the role:

Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer ready to take on complex, real-world challenges? Join our Systems Engineering team and help design and deliver innovative, high-performance defence solutions.

You'll work across the full engineering lifecycle — from interpreting system requirements and designing power and control systems, to supporting prototyping, testing, and integration. It’s a hands-on, collaborative role with the opportunity to make a real impact.

The main elements of the role will include:

  • Designing and developing electrical systems for high-performance defence platforms
  • Producing detailed schematics, technical documentation, and supplier interface materials
  • Supporting prototype builds, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful integration
  • Ensuring all work meets required quality, safety, and industry standards

About the person:

  • HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Proven experience in electrical design—particularly industrial wiring, control systems, and system interconnection
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment and prototype testing
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
