Job summary

Edina in Manchester is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our design team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will design and develop LV and HV electrical networks and power distribution systems for our mid- to large-scale projects, producing drawings and technical documentation.

The role requires a City & Guilds Level HND in Electrical Engineering, at least five years' experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD; Trimble or Amtech experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five years' experience in construction or engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical drawings.
• Full driving licence.
• Good IT skills and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design LV and HV electrical networks for power systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified Electrical Design Engineer to join our Design team and support the delivery of engineering projects through the production of electrical designs, drawings and technical documentation.

You will be joining a collaborative team, working across projects involving LV and HV electrical networks, power generation and distribution systems, as well as supporting the Projects, Sales and Service departments.

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will design and develop LV and HV electrical networks, power generation and distribution systems, as well as DC systems for BESS projects.

You will produce electrical designs and technical documentation, develop LV/HV protection schemes, undertake cable sizing and prepare specifications for switchboards, transformers and other electrical equipment.

Working closely with colleagues, clients, DNOs and suppliers, you will support multi-discipline projects, helping to maintain the timely flow of technical information and carrying out site visits to support design progress and as-built updates.

About You

• To hold a City & Guilds Level HND - Electrical Engineering
• At a minimum, five years' experience within a construction or engineering background
• To have proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience using it to produce accurate electrical drawings
• To have demonstrable experience with Trimble and/or Amtech
• To have effective IT skills and competence in the use of Microsoft Office Packages
• To hold a full current driving licence

Hours of Work: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Mon - Thurs, and 8:30am - 4:00pm Friday.
