Our client is a leading provider of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) solutions, delivering high–quality services across commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

seeking a skilled and detail–oriented Electrical Design Engineer to develop and deliver electrical design solutions across a range of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing technical drawings, specifications, and calculations while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and client requirements.

Duties:

• Develop detailed electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, security, and other building services.
• Prepare single–line diagrams, load calculations, cable sizing, and circuit protection specifications.
• Produce and review technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., BS7671, IET Wiring Regulations).
• Liaise with clients, architects, other engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements.
• Attend design meetings, site surveys, and provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate with mechanical and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Contribute to the preparation of tender packages, specifications, and design reports.
• Ensure all documentation and designs are properly reviewed, signed off, and archived.

• Requirements:

• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in electrical design within the construction or building services sector.
• Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations (BS7671) and building codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Amtech (Trimble), Dialux/Relux, and ideally Revit/BIM environments.
• Experience with medium and low voltage distribution systems, lighting, and small power layouts.
• Good understanding of CDM regulations and health & safety compliance.
