Job summary

Regional Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a market leading heavy plant machinery company in Leicester. You will design, develop and support electrical and control systems for heavy equipment.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a salary of £45,000 to £60,000 DOE, pension, training, and a friendly environment. You will work on large engineering projects and be involved from design through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical/ Electronic engineering.
• Experience in industrial electrical systems and controls.
• Knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Motor control systems and drives.
• Industrial automation and instrumentation.
• Ability to read and produce electrical schematics.
• Desirable: experience in heavy plant, quarrying or process industries.
• Desirable: familiarity with SCADA systems and remote monitoring.
• Desirable: experience with international commissioning or site work.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for asphalt plants, crushing and screening systems and concrete batching plants.
• Develop control panels, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Program and configure PLC and automation systems.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning of plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues on site and remotely.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards and safety regulations.
