Job description

Electrical Design Engineer required for my client based in Basildon, who would be responsible for the design and development of high-value special purpose machinery, predominantly within the automotive industry.

The successful electrical design engineer will be in a client-facing role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering projects.

The position would suit an individual who has worked in a similar "hands-on" role and is proficient in the use of EPLAN.

Electrical Design Engineer Position Overview

1. Use of EPLAN software.
2. Create, update, and modify existing designs.
3. Obtain quotes and communicate with suppliers on technical issues.
4. Answer internal queries during manufacture, build, and installation.
5. Prepare and maintain documentation and records to a Quality Operating System.
6. Prepare and maintain Excel documents for internal recording of items such as drawing updates, issue decks, and supplier specifications.

Electrical Design Engineer Position Requirements

1. HNC or BEng in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience, preferably with automotive industry experience.
2. Experience using EPLAN.
3. Good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or independently.
4. Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize workload while managing multiple projects.
5. Based within a commutable distance of Basildon.
6. Full UK driving license is beneficial.

Electrical Design Engineer Position Remuneration

1. Salary: £40,000 to £45,000, dependent on skills, qualifications, and experience.
2. Working hours: 37.5 hours, with hybrid working (WFH 2 days) subject to workload.
3. Holiday package: 25 days plus 1 additional day each year up to 30 days.
4. Additional benefits: Company performance bonus, overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate.
