Job summary

Morgan McKinley (South West) is seeking an Electrical Design & Controls Engineer in Oxfordshire to design, build, and deploy control systems for automation machinery. You will manage projects from AutoCAD schematics to shop-floor testing and site commissioning.

The role requires 3+ years in electrical/controls design for industrial automation, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, knowledge of safety standards and protocols (Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP), and a UK driving licence; overseas site

Qualifications

3+ years in electrical/controls design for industrial automation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (or equivalent eCAD software).
Solid understanding of machinery safety standards and industrial protocols (Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, IO-Link, TCP/IP).
Hands-on diagnostic, build-support, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Electrical Design: Create schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams to EU/UK standards using AutoCAD Electrical.
Control Systems: Specify electrical components, safety hardware, and industrial communication architecture.
Programming & Integration: Develop and debug PLC software for automated machinery.
Build & Commissioning: Support panel wiring, conduct electrical testing, and commission systems at customer sites (UK and overseas).
Project Support: Coordinate with suppliers, deliver project documentation, and troubleshoot machine builds.
