Job summary

Nova Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Technician (Electrical Controls) to support a Renewables client across sites in Preston and Warrington. You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance on generator sets, and coach Operations staff while staying available for on-call needs.

The role emphasizes safe operation, adherence to HSQE practices, and proactive maintenance to maximise electrical output and minimise outages.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and experience of Electrical and Mechanical maintenance.
• Recognised level in an Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field.
• Experience with electric control systems 12v DC - 415v AC 30ø
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification
• Experience working with Landfill Gas, specialist fuels and/or on generators is advantageous.
• Computer literate.
• Hold full UK drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Day to day operations and maintenance including fault diagnosis, location and rectification.
• Planned maintenance and breakdown response on the generator sets with minimum outages.
• Commitment to continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge of the team.
• Provide guidance to Operations Technicians to undertake minor maintenance and simple fault finding.
• Emergency 24-hour call out cover for generator set failures when necessary.
• Ordering of spares and stock control.
