Job summary

FBC UK is hiring an Electrical Controls and Systems Manager to join our Batley site. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, overhauling, modifying, and installing electrical and electronic plant and apparatus.

Key duties include ensuring up-to-date system backups, managing control and obsolescence planning, and contributing to system and control development. The role requires mentoring and supporting a maintenance team, ensuring compliance with safety standards,

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC/TEC level in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge of PLC controlled systems (Siemens/Allen-Bradley).
• Experience mentoring and coaching team members.
• Experience in process/manufacturing or similar engineering industry.
• Knowledge of I.E.E electrical wiring regs and Electricity at Work Regs.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and use testing equipment.
• Knowledge of single/three-phase distribution and VSDs.

Responsibilities

• Manage risk and removal of obsolescence.
• Ensure up-to-date backups of PLC programmes.
• Maintain fully supported programme for VSDs (programme/obsolescence).
• Support fault repair and efficiency improvements on plant and machinery.
• Adhere to company standards, procedures, hygiene and safety rules.
• Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure compliance and plant efficiency.
• Collaborate with production to respond to breakdowns.
• Provide out-of-hours support for controls and systems issues.
