Job Description:

Location: Chesterfield

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking an Electrical Controls System Engineer / Software Engineer Controls System for a 6-month contract (Outside IR35) in Chesterfield, UK.

Role:

As a Controls System Engineer, you will be responsible for site installation, site retesting, site surveys, full integrated system testing, CFAT, SAT, and installation. You should have experience in system specification, design, development, and testing, with hands-on experience with Siemens S7 PLCs and WinCC SCADA systems.

Main Responsibilities:

Deliver project modules including PLC, SCADA, Testing, Networking, Documentation, and Hardware design. Ensure projects meet technical and quality standards, identify opportunities and variations, and adhere to company quality processes.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions.
• A degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline, or professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer or working towards it.

Desirable Experience:

• Developing project modules such as PLC code, SCADA scripts, Mimics, and communication drivers.
• Creating O&M documentation, FDS, DDS, test specifications, and testing methodologies.
• Developing site work documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and site testing documentation; undertaking observations, variations, reworks, and managing packing/shipping.

Important: The successful candidate must obtain SC clearance to start the contract.
