Job summary
Travail Employment Group is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Bristol-area design team in Keynsham. You will design electrical control systems, develop PLC and HMI code, create BOMs and diagrams, and assist with commissioning and site installation.
The role involves testing, troubleshooting and coordinating with suppliers, with some worldwide travel and a focus on safety, ISO standards and on-time delivery. A BSc or equivalent and 5+ years in the field are expected.
Qualifications
- BSc level or equivalent education.
- 5+ years in electrical controls design.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience with PLC-based switchgear and control systems (RSLogix, Siemens).
- Servo motion and robotic handling systems programming/testing.
- Knowledge of CE marking legislation.
- Willing to travel with driving license and passport.
Responsibilities
- Produce technical information, designs, BOM, PLC and HMI code.
- Prepare associated schedules, ISO docs, specs and standards.
- Test and commission electrical and mechanical systems.
- Communicate with specifiers and suppliers; resolve issues.
- Ensure drawings and software meet timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with internal/external contacts; maintain records.
- Visit customers worldwide to support aftermarket and installations.
