Job summary

EVEREC is recruiting for an Applications Engineer - Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation to support the energy and power sector from Derbyshire. You will develop electrical concepts during the sales process, perform calculations, and produce technical proposals for complex projects across grid infrastructure and industrial energy sectors.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems, AC/DC, distribution, protection and control.
• 2+ years' experience in Applications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technical Sales or similar.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and schematics.
• Experience developing technical solutions, concepts or proposals.
• Commercial awareness or interest in customer-facing engineering roles.
• HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; a degree is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary electrical concepts and technical solutions during the sales and bid phase.
• Carry out electrical engineering calculations and assess project power requirements.
• Support solutions involving power distribution, MCCs, control panels, instrumentation, PLCs and electrical interfaces.
• Develop preliminary designs, single-line diagrams, load schedules and equipment specs.
• Review customer specifications, electrical schematics, drawings and international standards.
• Coordinate cost estimates for electrical equipment and systems.
• Produce detailed technical and commercial proposals.
• Attend customer meetings in the UK and internationally.
