Skilled Careers is seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of electrical projects across London and the Home Counties. The role focuses on leading project delivery, managing operational teams, and driving financial performance while maintaining safety and quality.

You will work with senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards, with opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple electrical projects from pre-construction through to testing and handover.
• Lead and develop a team of Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
• Take responsibility for project delivery, ensuring on-time completion within budget and to standards.
• Monitor costs, budgets, cashflow forecasts and profit margins.
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams on valuations and final accounts.
• Review programmes, resource plans, procurement schedules and risk registers.
• Develop and implement improved processes across project delivery.
• Lead client, principal contractor and consultant meetings.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, CDM 2015 and electrical standards.
• Oversee RAMS, site inspections, quality audits and handover documentation.

Electrical Contracts Manager

Location: Croydon, South London London & Home Counties
Salary: GBP75,000 GBP85,000 DOE
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday Friday

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a growing electrical contracting business, overseeing a varied portfolio of electrical projects across London and the surrounding Home Counties.

This is a senior management opportunity for someone with a strong electrical contracting background who can lead project delivery, manage operational teams and take responsibility for the financial and commercial performance of multiple projects.

Working closely with the senior leadership and commercial teams, you will manage Project Managers and Site Supervisors, drive improvements in operational processes and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple electrical projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to testing, commissioning and handover.
• Manage, lead and develop a team of Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
• Take responsibility for project delivery, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget and to the required standards.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cashflow forecasts and profit margins.
• Work closely with Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams on valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts.
• Review programmes, resource plans, procurement schedules and project risks.
• Develop and implement improved processes and procedures across project delivery.
• Lead client, principal contractor and consultant meetings.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, CDM 2015 and relevant electrical standards.
• Oversee RAMS, site inspections, quality audits and project handover documentation.

The Ideal Candidate

• At least 8 years' experience within electrical contracting.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Proven experience managing multiple electrical projects, typically valued between GBP500k and GBP5m+.
• Experience managing Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
• Strong commercial understanding, including forecasting, budgets, valuations and cost control.
• Experience working alongside Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams.
• A track record of improving operational processes and project delivery.
• Good knowledge of the London and South East construction market.

Essential Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• SMSTS
• ECS / JIB Gold Card (Manager or Supervisor).
• First Aid at Work.
• Full UK driving licence.
