Job summary

Vulcain Engineering is seeking an Electrical Construction Engineer to join the South West nuclear construction team in Bridgwater, Somerset. You will oversee installation, inspection and commissioning readiness of electrical systems across a major regulated infrastructure programme.

Responsibilities include reviewing design documentation, supporting field installation teams, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation practices.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience managing or supporting engineering work packages within a major project or programme.
• Knowledge of construction, installation, inspection, and testing requirements for electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of electrical installation activities across power, distribution, lighting and associated C&I systems.
• Review electrical design documentation, including drawings, specifications, schematics, cable schedules and installation instructions.
• Provide technical support to construction teams, ensuring work complies with approved designs and quality requirements.
• Monitor installation progress and resolve engineering and technical issues impacting safety, quality or schedule.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Assist in managing technical queries, non-conformances and design change requests.
