Job summary

Morson Edge is recruiting an Electrical Building Services Engineer for major UK infrastructure projects, including Ministry of Justice facilities. You will contribute to the design and delivery of electrical building-services solutions across infrastructure and secure facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related discipline.
• Experience designing electrical building-services systems.
• Knowledge of power distribution and lighting.
• Experience producing calculations and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM methodologies.
• Understanding of Building Regulations and British Standards, CDM requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Membership of, or progress toward, CIBSE or IET.
• Consultancy experience in justice/defence/healthcare/education/transport or other sensitive buildings.
• Able to obtain MOJ security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, security systems and electrical infrastructure.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports and equipment schedules.
• Support projects from survey and concept design through detailed design, construction and handover.
• Undertake site surveys, inspections and assessments of existing electrical installations.
• Develop practical solutions for refurbishment, upgrade and new-build projects.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, architectural and structural disciplines.
• Use electrical design, modelling and calculation software.
• Support technical reviews and respond to construction-stage queries.
• Identify design hazards and contribute to CDM risk-management processes.
• Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations, British Standards and industry guidance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Manage assigned work against quality, budget and programme.

Salary: £32,000-£45,000

We are recruiting an Electrical Building Services Engineer for a leading UK infrastructure consultancy.
You will contribute to the design and delivery of electrical building-services solutions across infrastructure and Ministry of Justice projects,including prisons and other secure operational facilities.
Applications are welcomed from developing engineers at Assistant level as well as established Building Services Engineers. The successful candidate will be appointed at the appropriate grade based on their experience.

About you
