Job description

Electrical Biased Site Services Engineer

Salary: £53,000 + Bonus
Shift: 4 on 4 off
Location: Shepton Mallet

Are you an electrically biased engineer with experience working across site services, utilities or industrial plant?

We're working with a well-established manufacturer in Shepton Mallet that has invested significantly across its site, including multi-million-pound investment in new production equipment and supporting infrastructure.

As part of the continued development of their engineering function, they're looking for an Electrically Biased Site Services Engineer to join the team.

This is a varied role looking after the services that keep a large manufacturing facility running, alongside supporting the wider engineering team when required.

This is what you'll be doing:
  • Maintain and fault find across site services and utilities including steam, compressed air, water, refrigeration/chilled systems and HVAC
  • Electrical fault finding across motors, pumps, control panels, three-phase systems, inverters, sensors, relays and contactors
  • Support boiler and steam systems, pumps, valves and associated distribution equipment
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across site infrastructure
  • Fault find on PLC-controlled systems, including I/O and field devices
  • Support refrigeration, cooling and temperature-controlled systems
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, bearings and associated equipment
  • Complete PPMs and statutory maintenance activities, ensuring plant remains safe, compliant and reliable
  • Support installations, upgrades and engineering projects across the site
  • Work alongside the wider maintenance team when additional engineering support is required
The experience you’ll bring to the team:
  • Electrically biased or strong multi-skilled engineering background
  • Time-served apprenticeship or recognised electrical/engineering qualification
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills within an industrial environment
  • Confident working with three-phase systems, motors and electrical control equipment
  • Experience with site services, utilities, facilities or process plant would be highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of steam, boilers, compressed air, refrigeration, HVAC or water systems would be beneficial
  • Comfortable carrying out mechanical maintenance when required
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred, although engineers from other industrial environments will also be considered
And this is what you’ll get in return: £53,000 annual salary + bonus
  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern
  • Company pension scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee discounts
  • Free on-site parking
  • Excellent exposure to a varied range of utilities, infrastructure and engineering equipment
  • Continued investment in the site and engineering function
Are you up to the challenge?

If you’re an electrically biased engineer who enjoys the variety of working across utilities and site infrastructure rather than being tied solely to production machinery, this could be an excellent next move.

Please note, due to the high number of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond to everyone directly. If you haven’t heard back within 7 days, unfortunately your application hasn’t been successful on this occasion.
