Job summary

Britvic plc in Leeds is seeking an Engineering Technician to maintain production equipment, utilities and services. The role operates on an annualized shift pattern with 12-hour blocks (6am–6pm, 6pm–6am) to maximise equipment availability and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have an electrical bias, solid maintenance experience in manufacturing, RCA skills, and a proactive attitude toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• HNC in engineering required and a minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in engineering.
• Broad maintenance experience in a manufacturing/operational setting.
• Electrical bias with the ability to diagnose and fix machine faults.
• Experience delivering maintenance with root cause analysis (RCA).
• Experience in continuous improvement to improve reliability and performance.
• Good understanding of site utilities, services and engineering systems.
• Experience developing operating principles and changeover procedures.
• Ability to train and support operators and work across cross‑functional teams.
• Additional maintenance engineering certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns promptly and perform repairs to minimise downtime while complying with safety legislation.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance per the site plan, liaising with the engineering planner to optimise programs.
• Lead zero‑loss teams to reduce utilities usage and improve equipment reliability through RCA.
• Manage contractors and issue permits, reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintain and optimise site utilities and services to ensure uptime and environmental performance.
• Support operations by identifying changeover improvements and providing technical support for Autonomous Maintenance.
• Develop and implement 5S improvement plans for the engineering dept while upholding safety and quality standards.
