Electrical & Automation Engineer, Sheffield

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with an industrial machinery business specializing in the design, build, and installation of steel processing equipment to recruit an Electrical & Automation Engineer based in Sheffield.

My client is an £80m turnover international company focused on ecological solutions for green steel production, digitalization of production processes, advanced automation, future-oriented designs, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide electrical plant integration for large, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Lead the design, engineering, and commissioning of electrical and automation aspects of projects.
• Assist the Projects Proposals Team in preparing technical specifications for electrical and automation components.
• Create compliant and cost-effective design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and manuals.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure successful project execution, including reporting on budgets and progress.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project success and future business opportunities.
• Support site commissioning and troubleshooting at client locations.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Controls or Automation Engineering.
• Problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
• Experience in project engineering and full project lifecycle management.
• Significant experience in machine design and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of motor sizing and application for machine optimization (highly desirable).
• Understanding of functional safety systems for industrial control.
• Valid UK driving license and the right to work and travel in the UK and internationally.
