Job summary

Hull College is seeking a Skills Coach in Electrical to support apprentices on-site and remotely, coaching, mentoring and assessing their progress to meet apprenticeship standards and end-point assessment requirements.

You will use industry experience to develop practical skills and confidence, embed maths and English, work with employers and the delivery team, and help learners achieve successful outcomes while aiming for distinction where possible.

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Electrical or equivalent industry experience.
• Maths & English Level 2 or willingness to achieve within 6 months.
• Assessor qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Strong recent experience within the electrical industry.
• Experience of supporting, assessing or developing others.
• Good communication and IT skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and meet targets.
• Full driving licence and ability to travel to support learning and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Providing coaching, mentoring, teaching, learning and assessment on apprenticeship programmes to meet employer and apprentice standards.
• Regularly reviewing apprentice progress via online e-portfolio and ensuring timely gateway and end point assessment.
• Maintaining excellent relationships with employers and upholding employer requirements.
• Individualising programmes to meet diverse employer needs and embed maths and English.
• Participating in standardisation and quality improvement meetings, and working with employer engagement to identify new apprentices.
