Job summary
Barrett Steel Limited is seeking an experienced Electric Overhead Crane Engineer to service assets across our Midlands sites, including Northampton, Burton, Dartford and Gloucester. You will perform preventative maintenance on electric overhead travelling cranes and ensure adherence to health, safety and quality policies.
The role requires strong electrical knowledge, Crane experience with Konecranes/Abus/Demag, and the ability to work at heights.
Qualifications
- Be safety-focused and adhere to current lifting industry standards.
- Qualified in Electrical/Mechanical discipline; LEEA diploma preferred.
- Strong electrical knowledge of overhead cranes essential.
- Experience with Konecranes, Abus and Demag cranes.
- Able to work at heights with IOSH training preferred.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- IPAF 3a and 3b powered access licences.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operations comply with Barrett Steel Health and Safety and policies.
- Maintain overhead cranes; perform preventative maintenance.
- Reduce costs by achieving first-time fix.
- Provide crane-related and lifting operation advice.
- Diagnose faults and perform root-cause analysis.
- Complete risk assessments and method statements.
- Collate crane performance data and report monthly.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of crane availability.
