Job summary

Barrett Steel Limited is seeking an experienced Electric Overhead Crane Engineer to cover assets across Northampton, Burton, Dartford and Gloucester. You will perform preventative maintenance on overhead cranes and support sites nationwide.

Applicants should be safety-focused with strong electrical/mechanical expertise and hold LEEA qualifications, IPAF 3a/3b, and IOSH training. A company van and comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Be safety focused and adhere to lifting industry standards.
• Qualified in Electrical/Mechanical technical discipline; LEEA diploma preferred.
• Strong electrical knowledge of overhead cranes.
• Experience with Konecranes, Abus and Demag cranes.
• Full UK driving licence; IPAF 3a/3b licences; IOSH training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance of overhead travelling cranes across Barrett Steel assets.
• Perform fault diagnosis and root cause analysis on crane components.
• Reduce crane breakdowns by proactive maintenance and first-time fixes.
• Collate crane performance data and produce monthly reports.
• Advise sites on crane-related and lifting operation matters.
• Ensure operations comply with Barrett Steel health, safety, quality and environmental policies.
