Job summary

VanRath is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Officer for our Derry manufacturing site. You will drive a proactive safety culture, lead risk assessments, incident investigations and training, and support environmental compliance across the site.

The role reports to the EHS Director within a regulated manufacturing environment, offering ongoing professional development and a collaborative, safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety Management (or equivalent)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with strong shop-floor safety presence
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
• Proven experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and EHS audits
• Internal EHS auditor qualification is desirable
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead training sessions
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Drive a positive safety culture by engaging employees and managers at all levels
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safe operating procedures
• Lead site inspections, incident investigations and emergency preparedness initiatives
• Support environmental compliance activities including waste and hazardous substance management
• Deliver EHS training and awareness programmes
• Maintain and report on EHS KPIs, identify trends and improvements
• Assist with internal and external EHS audits and close corrective actions
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems implementation and maintenance
