Mactech Energy Group is seeking an EHS Assistant to support the HPC project team on a full-time, site-based basis in West Somerset near Bridgwater. The role focuses on supporting the EHS team with data management, meeting coordination, and administrative tasks essential to project delivery.

The successful candidate will have construction admin experience, strong MS Office skills, and an ability to prepare weekly EHS inputs and client-facing reports.

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction admin support is required.
  • Experience in a similar EHS or site-based role is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) valued.

Responsibilities

  • Support site-based initiatives toward excellence.
  • Manage HPC correspondence alerts and ensure timely distribution.
  • Organise meetings requested by the EHS team.
  • Maintain accurate EHS data and present it to the Client.
  • Provide weekly status reports to the CDM/EHS Manager.
  • Coordinate EHS events, room bookings, suppliers, and site access.
  • Take and distribute minutes of site meetings.
  • Assist with presentations and general admin for the EHS team.
  • Manage site office courier services for international/domestic delivery.
  • Support daily site office activities and ensure necessary resources.
  • Maintain EHS stationery and sundry items.
  • Assist with project and software system management.
  • Support general administration of the EHS team and documentation.

Job description

Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site, based in West Somerset, 15 miles from Bridgwater. We are currently undertaking a substantial package of work and require an EHS Assistant to support the project team

The role of the EHS Assistant is to support the EHS team in its overall function to ensure it works efficiently and aligned to the HPC project requirements

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Support site based initiatives toward excellence,
  • Manage both HPC & correspondence alerts and ensure timely distribution of same,
  • Organise meetings as requested by the EHS team,
  • Maintain accurate EHS data which is provided from the team and create in a format which can be presented to the Client,
  • Provide the CDM/EHS Manager a weekly report regarding the status of EHS inputs;
  • Organization of EHS events including room bookings, contacting suppliers and arranging access to site,
  • Active participation in the site meetings, including taking of and distribution of minutes,
  • Assisting with the preparation of presentations etc. as requested by the EHS team,
  • Managing site office courier service for international and domestic delivery,
  • Supports the EHS team in daily site office work,
  • Ensures the EHS team have the administrative facilities and resources to function effectively / maintains the EHS stationery and sundry items,
  • Assist with the management of project & software systems,
  • Assist with the general administration of the EHS team and documentation.
Experience required
  • Working Experience in a similar role in the construction industry
  • Excellent computer skills in using MS-Windows & Office Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Pervious experience of supporting teams and providing administration support
  • Experience of Health and Safety data reporting advantageous

This is full time site based role - Monday to Friday, Long term contract

Salary £35 ,000 with training and upskilling opportunities

NNB role is to construct two major EPR nuclear plants, and the position will be part of HPC site construction team. Due to the scale of this project, the programme duration and the immovable completion date, it would be advantageous for the Field Engineer to have previous experience in delivering construction projects under similar constraints.

The Field Engineer will be a staunch advocate of our Nuclear Safety Culture, and help to embed this approach in all processes and activities undertaken on the Project. The scope will cover all Works associated with the construction of the designated section of the Project and the post holder will perfrom surveillance on activities of the Works Contractors. This will include continuous, notified and planned surveillance.
