Job summary

GDS Partners are recruiting an EHS Advisor on behalf of a leading M&E Contractor for a permanent position based in Cardiff, Wales. The role involves delivering HSE leadership across major projects and ensuring compliance with UK regulations.

You will conduct site inspections, lead toolbox talks, and drive continual improvement in health and safety culture. A degree or NEBOSH, and relevant construction sector experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification (Degree or NEBOSH).
  • Experience in construction or M&E sector.
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and workplace risk assessments.
  • Promote a proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental culture across all project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Review RAMS, permits to work, and other site safety documentation.
  • Support site management teams with Health & Safety advice and guidance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and maintain high HSE standards across the site.
  • Produce HSE reports and maintain accurate site records.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies where required.

About the role
  • Permanent position based in Cardiff, Wales.

Main duties will include, but not be limited to

Requirements
  • Relevant Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. Degree, NEBOSH)
  • Previous experience within the construction or M&E sector.
  • Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
  • Experience carrying out site audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
