Carbon60 is proud to partner with a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry, seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor within the Quality department.

This EHS Advisor position is permanent and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role, you will collaborate with the Security Manager to ensure compliance with EHS standards, ISO14001, ISO45001, Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), and REACH regulations.

Role Responsibilities include:

  1. Engaging with departmental managers to ensure company-wide EHS compliance.
  2. Overseeing Risk Assessments and Control of Substances Harmful to Health (COSHH) Assessments.
  3. Reporting and investigating accidents, including KPI reporting to the Product Division.
  4. Conducting audits to ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards to maintain LHT Group approval.
  5. Developing EHS policies aligned with UK law and LHT group requirements.
  6. Implementing health and safety targets for compliance and safety improvements.
  7. Establishing and leading a Safety Team across functions.
  8. Assessing new substances and managing REACH compliance.
  9. Ensuring PPE standards are met and maintained.
  10. Participating in Lufthansa Technik (LHT) EHS community activities, including summits and workshops.
  11. Advising on EHS training programs and collaborating with colleagues responsible for training.
  12. Creating and maintaining a control plan for EHS testing requirements.
  13. Supporting Human Resources on occupational health matters.
  14. Conducting meetings with first aiders and providing support as their point of contact.
  15. Assisting the Quality Team with procedural updates and related tasks.

Skills and Experience required:

  1. Preferably an EHS background with aviation knowledge.
  2. Strong administration and coordination skills.
  3. Experience in completing Risk Assessments, audits, and reviewing MSDS sheets.
  4. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Degree-level education in Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields, or equivalent experience coupled with secondary education (A Levels) or BTECH/HNC (desirable).
  6. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  7. Recognized auditing qualification with experience in ISO14001 or ISO45001 (preferred).
