Job summary

Arla Foods in Taw Valley Creamery, Devon, is seeking an EHS Administrator for an 18-month fixed-term role. On-site, Monday-Friday, you will support the QEHS Manager and EHS team across site activities.

The role focuses on coordination, administration and EHS support, offering opportunities to work with multiple departments and develop EHS standards. We value organised individuals with a willingness to learn and contribute to environmental and safety practices, with potential for career

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the EHS team with the administration and maintenance of EHS systems, records, documentation and reports.
  • Assisting with inspections, and improvement activities.
  • Monitoring EHS actions and performance, identifying areas requiring follow-up and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Supporting compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, Arla standards and site procedures.
  • Working with colleagues across the site to promote a positive EHS culture and encourage good environmental and safety practices through business planning activities.

Job description

EHS Administrator – 18-Month Fixed-Term Role

Join our growing QHES team as part of our exciting expansion at our Taw Valley Creamery in Devon. Reporting to the QEHS Manager on site, and working closely with the EHS Specialist and EHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting EHS activities across site. This is a Monday-Friday, day-based role.

How You Will Make An Impact

You will help ensure EHS activities are well organised, actions are followed up, records are maintained and the site continues to meet its EHS standards and legal requirements. This is a varied role combining coordination, administration and EHS support, providing an opportunity to work closely with different departments and contribute to the continued development of our EHS standards and performance.

  • Supporting the EHS team with the administration and maintenance of EHS systems, records, documentation and reports.
  • Assisting with inspections, and improvement activities.
  • Monitoring EHS actions and performance, identifying areas requiring follow-up and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Supporting compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, Arla standards and site procedures.
  • Working with colleagues across the site to promote a positive EHS culture and encourage good environmental and safety practices through business planning activities.
What Will Make You Successful

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is well organised, keen to learn and genuinely interested in developing their EHS knowledge, who can help keep things running smoothly and provide valuable support to the wider EHS team day to day.

  • Some experience in an environmental, health & safety role, ideally within a manufacturing or food production environment (but not essential if you’ve got the right transferable skills).
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to keep on top of multiple tasks and deadlines without things slipping.
  • Good communication skills and a team-focused approach, with the confidence to work with colleagues at all levels.
  • A good level of attention to detail, particularly when it comes to keeping records and documentation accurate and up to date.
  • A basic understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety principles and legislation, or a genuine interest in learning more.
