Job summary

SUEZ in Milton Keynes is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function, maximise plant reliability, safety and performance. The role will drive planned, preventive and reactive maintenance, manage budgets and spares, and ensure health and safety compliance across the site.

You will lead a team, deliver maintenance strategies, and collaborate with other departments to improve asset reliability and long-term plant performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams and managing budgets to deliver maintenance strategies.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge with a relevant qualification.
• Experience in regulated industrial settings with health, safety and environmental compliance.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll lead the maintenance function to maximise plant reliability, safety, and performance.

• Lead and develop a team delivering planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the facility.
• Manage maintenance budgets, resources, spares, contractors and the maintenance management system.
• Drive a strong safety-first culture while ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Deliver strategic maintenance plans, continuous improvement initiatives and major outage programmes.
• Work collaboratively across departments to improve operational performance, plant availability and long-term asset reliability.

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Maintenance Manager, Senior Maintenance Engineer or similar leadership role within energy-from-waste, power generation, process manufacturing, chemical processing or another heavy industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge, supported by an HNC, degree, apprenticeship, time-served background, or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Proven experience leading teams, managing budgets and delivering maintenance strategies that improve reliability and performance.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance within a regulated industrial setting.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification would be advantageous.
