Use your love for languages to enrich young lives

PGL is a world where children achieve the impossible.

Our residential adventure camps create extraordinary breakthroughs by instilling a love of adventure and the outdoors, encouraging independence, and empowering children to achieve great things in the future.

Our purpose is to enrich children's lives through the transformative power of adventure. Will you join us?

Being an EFL Teacher at PGL

Working with kids requires energy, confidence, and effort; but we guarantee it’s never, ever boring. Our EFL courses combine classroom-based English language lessons, sightseeing excursions, and outdoor activities to bring learning to life!
You will prepare and deliver fun, engaging lessons to our international guests, both in the classroom and outdoors, encouraging and motivating them to improve their English skills.

You will receive a 3-day induction and support from an on-site Director of Studies who will guide you through pre-written weekly or fortnightly programmes for you to deliver (A1-B2 level), with the option to include your own resources that meet our Can Do philosophy. Class sizes are a maximum of 15 students.

Are you a PGL person?

You need your Cambridge CELTA/Trinity Cert TSEOL or equivalent (PGCE in English/Modern Languages, Primary PGCE leading to QTS) along with previous teaching or training experience. Beyond your teaching skills, your character is what we value most. PGL people are:

  • Passionate about adventure and the outdoors
  • Friendly team players
  • Determined and resilient (peak periods can be challenging)

Our core values of FUN, SAFETY, QUALITY, INCLUSIVITY, TEAMWORK, and RESPECT unite us.

A place to thrive

No matter your background, ethnicity, age, neurodivergence, or anything else, PGL is a place to be yourself, have fun, make lifelong friends, and celebrate what makes you brilliantly unique.

Fair pay and benefits
  • Enjoy holidays! In addition to your annual leave, you get your birthday off and paid volunteering days.
  • Access to our Wellbeing Hub and Employee Assistance Program 24/7.
  • Use our financial wellbeing platform for assistance if needed.
  • Benefit from savings and perks at high street retailers, discounted holidays, and 20% off in on-site shops.

PGL is part of PGL Beyond, a group of innovative companies transforming adventure through enriching experiences and breakthroughs.

We value diversity and inclusivity in our team. Our application process is accessible to all; please contact us for any adjustments needed. All employees must undergo an Enhanced criminal records check (DBS or PVG), which we pay for, and provide a 5-year address history and ID. Convictions related to violence, drugs, or safeguarding may impact your application. Each case is assessed individually.
