Job Title: Programme Construction Manager

Location: Hybrid | Gatwick Area

Salary: Circa £70k - £78k + bonuses + Excellent Benefits

Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Construction Sector | Hybrid

Are you an experienced construction professional ready to take the lead on major infrastructure projects within a complex, live operational environment?

We are partnering with a leading UK transport hub known for delivering innovative infrastructure programmes that keep the country moving. With projects valued at over £50m, this organisation is investing heavily in the future—and you could play a central role.

The Opportunity:

As Programme Construction Manager, you’ll support the Programme Manager in overseeing the construction elements of several major projects. You'll lead a team, engage with contractors, drive safety and quality standards, and ensure smooth delivery within an operationally critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead all construction activity across a defined programme of works
2. Manage and mentor a team of construction professionals
3. Drive safety culture through regular engagement, audits, and performance reporting
4. Review contractor HSE and CDM compliance
5. Inspect works for alignment with specifications, standards, and statutory regulations
6. Support contractor onboarding and mobilisation
7. Lead resolution of site-based queries in collaboration with design teams

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree or equivalent in Construction Management or Engineering (Chartered status desirable)
• Strong experience in large-scale infrastructure or engineering projects
• Experience working in live operational environments with multiple stakeholders
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies and quality management
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and experience issuing PM Instructions and Claims
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across diverse teams
• Proficiency in MS Office; Bluebeam experience a plus
• Full UK Driving Licence required
