As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity Technology Controls Organization, you will be a key member of our team. Your role involves delivering software solutions that meet functional and user requirements, focusing on preventing misuse and malicious behavior. You will implement critical technology solutions across various business functions, using tamper-proof, audit-defensible methods. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the firm's business objectives and grow professionally in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Initially, successful candidates will be seconded to a FinTech software partner. This provides an exciting opportunity to experience the day-to-day of a fintech while being fully backed by JPMC. After the secondment, all secondees will return to JPMC to apply the acquired knowledge, technologies, and practices to develop critical services supporting GBP’s global cloud journey.
Job Responsibilities- Design, develop, and troubleshoot security solutions, applying knowledge of existing security solutions to meet internal client requirements (e.g., product, platform, application owners)
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with relevant systems
- Use specialized tools (e.g., vulnerability scanners) to analyze incident data, identify threats, and assess vulnerabilities
- Lead initiatives for security awareness, training, and educational activities
- Contribute to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practical experience
- Experience developing security engineering solutions
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Go, Python, or Java
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills- Knowledge of banking or finance sectors
- Experience with any cloud provider
- Experience with client/server architectures, microservices, or networking
- Experience with orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Mesos
- Experience with streaming architectures and tools such as Kafka
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
