Position: Senior Environmental Officer - West

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We have a great opportunity for you to join our Water Quality and Environment team as a Senior Environmental Officer. The role involves managing environmental risks across designated regions (West), ensuring compliance with permits and regulations, managing the Corrective Action Reporting (CAR) process, and facilitating Environment Agency (EA) audits. The officer will act as the primary contact for environmental compliance issues, working closely with operational teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks, and ensuring site audit readiness.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks associated with operations across designated regions.
  • Review and update environmental permits to ensure compliance with current operational practices.
  • Lead and facilitate Environment Agency site inspections, coordinating with internal teams for audit readiness.
  • Conduct regular, risk-based site inspections to ensure compliance and audit preparedness.
  • Manage the CAR process, ensuring timely resolution of non-compliance issues.
  • Utilize PowerBI dashboards, TeRI BI reports, and eSCADA trends to monitor environmental performance.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, process scientists, and flow compliance technicians to resolve compliance issues.
  • Develop improvements to data reporting practices, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Experience in Waste Water Recycling treatment processes is preferred. Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and draw conclusions is required. Proven experience in continuous improvement and process enhancements is beneficial. A full UK Driving License is essential.
