Job Title: Healthcare Assistant at Ty Cwm Rhondda

Hourly Rate: £12.21 per hour

About the Role

Ty Cwm Rhondda is a 20-bedded low secure mental health facility offering assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for males with complex mental health needs, including treatment-resistant conditions and challenging behaviors.

We aim to work with individuals to stabilize their mental health and behaviors, maximize independence, and promote reintegration into the community as early as possible.

Responsibilities

1. Assist qualified staff with patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks to support wellbeing, dignity, and treatment.
2. Monitor and observe patients, promptly reporting any unusual physical, mental, or emotional occurrences.
3. Provide delegated interventions, such as observation, engagement, escorting patients on leave, and de-escalation, following training and competency validation.
4. Support patients with personal care activities like dressing, bathing, and toileting, ensuring compliance with procedures and legislation.
5. Contribute to a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.
6. Build professional relationships with patients, colleagues, and visitors, responding courteously to requests and inquiries.
