Senior In-House Legal Counsel – Part-Time, Flexible, Hybrid Working
Location: City of London & Remote
Working Pattern: Part-time (3 to 4 days per week, up to 30 hours)
Salary: Up to £85,000 pro rata
Hybrid Working: Minimum 2 fixed office days per week

We are seeking a Senior In-House Legal Counsel to join the governance and professional standards team on a part-time basis. About the Role
You will act as the organisation’s primary legal advisor, providing pragmatic and strategic guidance across a broad spectrum of legal areas. This senior appointment requires an experienced generalist ideally with charity sector knowledge who can work independently while collaborating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver expert legal advice to the executive team, board, and senior management.
Lead on contract drafting, negotiation, and regulatory compliance.
Advise on employment law, data protection (GDPR), governance, and disciplinary processes.
Oversee legal risk management and regulatory issues, ensuring full compliance with relevant charity, corporate, and financial services regulations.
Liaise with and manage relationships with external legal advisors as required.
Stay informed of legislative changes and assess their impact on organisational operations.
What We’re Looking For
Qualified solicitor with a current practicing certificate in England & Wales.
Approx. 5 years PQE with at least 3 years at a senior in-house level.
Charity law and governance experience highly desirable.
Strong background in employment law, contracts, GDPR, and regulatory frameworks.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a mid-sized, mission-led organisation.
Experience working with or advising professional membership bodies is advantageous.
