Job description

An opportunity to join the procurement team of this successful and niche manufacturing business based in Suffolk. This role will have shared responsibility for a defined commodity group and key suppliers ensuring that production operational needs are met and ensuring continuity of supply.

Key areas of focus include: build and maintain long-term supplier relationships; take responsibility for activities pertaining to sourcing, planning, and expediting purchase orders to ensure fulfilment of production schedules; drive resolution on material quality, price and supply issues; contribute to cross-functional projects; provide advice on any issues which present risk to the organisation; and review opportunities to make savings.

To succeed in this role you will have demonstrable purchasing experience in a manufacturing, engineering or automotive environment. With an ability to work closely with engineering/production colleagues, you will be adept at reading engineering drawings. With a high attention to detail, you will have strong collaboration and team-working skills.The ability to work under pressure and prioritise your time effectively are highly prized with a positive, self-motivated approach to work a pre-requisite.
