Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

Shift: Weekend Days

Role Summary:

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for nursing care delivery. Under the department manager's guidance, leads safety and quality initiatives, streamlines workflow, and supports staff development. Aims to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service (Gold Standard).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 months of nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred. If the graduate degree isn't in nursing, a BSN is mandatory.
  • Meets specific specialty requirements as defined

Certifications and Licensure:

  • Virginia RN License required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred

Education:

  • BNS Degree REQUIRED

Experience:

  • At least 18 months of nursing experience required
