Job description

Equans is looking for a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital business, covering Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas on a full-time basis.

Equans Digital has an exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades and enhancements across various sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and government nationwide. Our goal is to make sites Smart Enabled, allowing us to introduce further value through IoT solutions, driving social, economic, and environmental benefits for the sites and their occupants.

We currently deliver project works ranging from £10k to £1.5m, with a blend of in-house delivery and specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3-5 years, this role is key in shaping and expanding our team sustainably.

Key activities:

The BMS Service Engineer will perform tasks on contracted customer sites, including PFI Schools, Hospitals, Government Estates, and MOD sites. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining BMS components such as sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
• Conducting maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMS systems.
• Participating in reactive call-out rotations, with additional financial benefits for on-call attendance.
• Providing technical support and advice to clients regarding their BMS systems.
• Identifying opportunities for system improvements and remedial works.
• Preparing proposals and quotations for works as needed.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• City & Guilds / BTEC / NVQ Electrical qualifications.
• Extensive knowledge of BMS / HVAC systems.
• Experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, Siemens.
• Strong understanding of the electrical industry.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
• Knowledge of IT networks.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Full UK driving license.
• Controls training or experience.
• Fault-finding experience in electrical panels.
• DBS and potential BPSS vetting.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
