A leading healthcare organization seeks Specialist Biomedical Scientists for its Cellular Pathology Department in Coventry. The role involves performing diagnostic services, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supervising staff. Candidates must be HCPC registered and hold the IBMS specialist portfolio. This full-time position offers extensive learning opportunities in a supportive environment.
The Histology laboratories are based at University Hospital in Coventry and South Warwickshire, providing diagnostic pathology services for the Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS), handling over 300,000 slides annually. There are two posts, each based at either Coventry or Warwick, with preferences discussed at interview.
The successful candidate must be HCPC registered and hold the IBMS specialist portfolio in Cellular Pathology. Responsibilities include routine and specialist histopathology, immunohistochemistry, special stains, laboratory QC, Molecular Histology (UHCW only), dissection, and supervising other lab staff as appropriate. The role requires working independently and under supervision to maintain a cross-site histology service.

The role involves participation in a laboratory shift system, working 37.5 hours between 7 am and 7 pm, including weekend rotations. This is a full-time position.
