Project Manager

Department: Projects & PMO

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: London

Description

Working closely with the Projects & PMO Team Lead and other Project Leaders, you will be responsible for professionalising and developing CFC’s project management capabilities. Your key stakeholders will include the PMO Manager and senior leaders across the business. You will work with a Strategic Business Partner to deliver cross-functional projects aligned with their scope and timeline, adhering to all policies and procedures.

Given the team’s varied workload and the fast-paced project environment, strong organisation and coordination skills are essential to keep us on track in achieving our goals and ambitions.

As Project Leader, you will set the standard of excellence for project team members. Responsibilities include leading stakeholder discussions, defining project scope, timelines, and resource needs, and documenting all stages of project management. You will identify risks and dependencies and implement effective management strategies.

You must be able to digest complex information and translate it into effective project plans. Clear communication of project goals and stakeholder engagement are crucial to success in this role.

About the role
  • Champion, implement, and maintain standardised project management tools and techniques
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures related to project management
  • Define project scope, timelines, and resourcing, and communicate these effectively to stakeholders
  • Monitor project needs proactively and lead planning, allocation, and reporting to ensure successful delivery
  • Anticipate and manage dependencies and risks to improve project performance
  • Mentor and guide project team members
  • Create detailed progress reports and present updates engagingly to stakeholders
  • Drive decision-making, involving key stakeholders appropriately
  • Establish and facilitate working groups to support projects with the right stakeholder mix
  • Manage project tools and templates to ensure accurate and up-to-date plans
  • Maintain effective relationships with the PMO Manager and other stakeholders
  • Produce clear minutes of project meetings, ensuring actions are understood and assigned
About you
  • Proven success in delivering cross-functional projects of various sizes
  • Experience in designing and improving project management policies and procedures
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, control, and strategic planning
  • Flexibility, organisation, responsiveness, creativity, and initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in challenging environments
  • Solid understanding of the insurance industry
