About the Role
We are working with a higher education institution to recruit an Interim Director of Finance and Planning on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the CFO, this position will oversee the daily operations of the finance team and ensure the University’s finances are managed effectively. The role includes responsibility for all stages of the financial cycle—such as planning, budgeting, monitoring, and year-end activities—ensuring they are carried out with accuracy, efficiency, and punctuality.
The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive financial reporting, analysis, and insights to assist the Senior Leadership Team and University committees, supporting well-informed and strategic decision-making at a senior level.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will hold a professional accounting qualification and will have significant previous experience leading the finance department of a complex organisation, ideally in an education setting. We are keen to talk to candidates with public sector experience, in HE/FE or with a regulatory background.
