Job description

Cambian Pengwern College is an independent provider of specialist further education in North Wales, offering day, and up to 52-week residential placements for young people aged 16 to 25 with a learning disability and complex needs.

Main Purpose of the Job

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for helping to provide and maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment for our students who learn and live at Pengwern College. You will work as part of a team to ensure that offices and communal areas are cleaned to a high standard, following health and safety policies and requirements.

You will work within a homely environment, primarily cleaning communal areas and offices between 7 am and 2 pm.

We seek someone who can work independently with a positive, proactive approach to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, flexible, efficient, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of their role within the Cambian Pengwern College team.

No specific experience is required; however, knowledge of COSHH, health and safety in the workplace, and/or previous cleaning experience would be advantageous.

We are looking for a Cleaner who is:

• Independently motivated with a positive and proactive attitude towards cleanliness.
• Self-motivated, flexible, organized, and efficient, with a 'can do' attitude.
• Able to work effectively under pressure.
• Capable of using domestic and professional cleaning equipment, including powered floor polishers.
• Skilled in stripping and making beds, cleaning rooms, toilets, showers, stairways, lobbies, windows, paintwork, corridors, outside steps, and removing litter and waste to outside bins.
• Responsible for maintaining own and others' health and safety at all times.
