CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Fabric Technician to join our team in Brighton.

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of basic, unskilled fabric and porterage tasks to maintain structures and grounds for the assigned facility site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of the building fabric, including painting, decorating, flooring, and building works.
  2. Undertake regular checks and routine inspections on equipment with the maintenance team.
  3. Perform minor tasks such as door lock repairs and light bulb replacements.
  4. Porterage duties including loading, unloading, moving materials, setting up meetings, and managing room arrangements.
  5. Assist with office access, office moves, assembling furniture, and installing nameplates.
  6. Perform minor grounds maintenance tasks like raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, and snow removal.
  7. Escort subcontractors as needed.
  8. Support the upkeep of onsite maintenance logbooks.
  9. Procure materials and equipment through Helpdesk, Supervisor, or Manager.
  10. Advise clients on minor additional works and prepare estimates.
  11. Attend call-outs and breakdowns, diagnose faults, and perform repairs or advise accordingly.
  12. Maintain cleanliness and safety of plant and plant room areas.
  13. Communicate daily with Helpdesk/Supervisor regarding PPM and reactive tasks.
  14. Be available for work outside normal hours with additional pay.
  15. Adhere to company Health and Safety policies.
  16. Undertake additional PPM/reactive duties as capable, including plumbing, mechanical, or minor electrical tasks.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Person Specification:
Education:
  • A good basic education, with proficiency in written and spoken English and basic Mathematics.
Experience:
  • At least 1 year of experience in a building services environment.
  • Full clean driving license.
Communication Skills:
  • Ability to understand instructions, correspondence, and memos; ask clarifying questions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, or supervisors.
  • Present information effectively to internal departments and large groups.
Circumstances:
  • Willingness to flex hours to support business needs.
